10 Things That I Enjoy

10 things edit

I had previously done a post about 10 things that bother me, so I thought I would do a positive one! We all have little luxuries in life, here are some of mine:

This is definitely number one on my list! I very rarely watch TV and I will only watch certain series, people are always baffled that I don’t ‘keep up with the Kardashians’ but reality TV just doesn’t interest me and I think that’s a good thing. Hans Zimmer, if you haven’t heard of him, your missing out! Especially if you are a blogger because his music is so soothing. My favourite song by him is here. His music makes me feel emotions, I didn’t even know existed. It is truly magical, I will forever be grateful for his talent. I went to see him in Dublin and wow is all I can say, breathtaking.

While this may be an obvious one, dipping chocolate into my cup of tea is one thing I just love! I always do this while watching my favourite series or film. Seem’s pretty simple, but I enjoy it. I like the little things in life. All snuggled up with tea and Milka chocolate, yummy!

Some people are grossed out by the thought of feet, me on the other hand, I love getting my feet massaged. This feels especially good after a long day of work or when I’m blogging. It relaxes my whole body and helps me sleep too! Getting my hair played with is something else I enjoy but I suppose that’s in the same category.

With being a blogger, I find it completely normal to watch YouTubers? I feel like we are the same, only I write and they film. Zoella is one of my favourites, her home decor is stunning and she always has the BEST outfits! Watching YouTubers actually gives me inspiration for my blog with ideas and themes. I find it fascinating that they share 90% of their life with the world. Just another thing I adore.

This may seem unsurprising, I had to add it to my list. I started blogging privately back in 2013 when I was 17, this was one of the most difficult times in my life and I used writing to escape. I used to write little stories but was always afraid to publish them. Blogging helps me get through my everyday life, its therapeutic to me.

Pinterest especially, I love swiping through office designs, bedroom decor, that kinda thing? I also love Twitter it’s one of my favourite apps, you can find my Twitter account here. Instagram is also something I use a lot, you can find me here. Maybe it’s because I’m just really nosey haha!

This is also super therapeutic for me, I do shellac nails for family and friends, people constantly tell me “you always have nice nails” and it makes me feel good. I just find it rewarding and relaxing too, although I never experiment with colour that often, I usually go for electric blue or nude.

I studied photography for 3 years in college and I am so happy I did. I love capturing moments with a single button. Sure we all have phones with good cameras but nothing comes close to a DSLR, especially if you want to print your images on big scales. Depth of field is so mesmerizing to me, making one subject the center of attention is key to any good photo. I have included some of my work at the end of this post for you to see! Editing is also something I love, you can create anything!

Shocker I know, but tidying up is such a good way to get rid of any bad vibes around the house, making all the rooms sparkly clean makes you feel good! Did you ever play Sims? and they walk into a room full of dishes and the mood bar dramatically decreases? Well that’s me. Organising my draws, folders on my iMac, all that stuff, I loveee! Makes me feel spacious and well-managed.

The whole process of getting a tattoo happens weeks maybe months before when you start planning. Planning what to get, designing it, booking it. The thrill of being on your way to the tattoo shop is amazing! It’s like Christmas when you’re a child, it’s so exciting. Sitting in the chair ready to embrace the pain, I love it! Such a nice feeling.

Here is some of my own work:

Guide To Liverpool

guide to liverpool

So your thinking about coming to Liverpool? Well why didn’t you say so! You have come to the right place. Liverpool is the best city in the world, I can promise you that! We are the best of the bunch! Here are a few reasons why:

The Beatles are definitely the most famous band to ever happen to Liverpool but there are so many bands born in Liverpool such as Echo & The Bunnymen, The Wombats, The Hummingbirds and Gerry and the Pacemakers. Our passion for music is astonishing, we thrive for old and new bands, singers, Liverpool welcomes all. There are usually Piano’s places round the city centre to encourage talent to be noticed.

Us Scouser’s are the best kind, we always make you feel loved. Happy, cheerful, always up for a laugh (and a night out!) We love spreading warmth and love.

Down at the Albert Dock, you will be greeted by the most beautiful buildings. The Liver Building being the most commonly known, there are a mixture with old and modern buildings and it looks stunning! Our cathedrals and Churches are blissful. We have some of the most amazing architecture.

The football here in Liverpool, has the most loyal fans in the world. Weather your red or blue, the passion is recognisable from anywhere. ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ touches the hearts of many here in Liverpool. The two stadiums are a very popular tourist attraction, you can visit Liverpool F.C here or if you fancy being blue for the day, Everton F.C is here.

From the unique, quirky shops located on Bold Street to the popular shops at Liverpool One. Here in Liverpool we have hundreds of shops to choose from! We also have a love for designer clothes, take a look at Cavern Walks or The Metquarter. The shops don’t stop there, we also have multiple markets all over Liverpool, St John’s Market is the most popular in the city centre.

If your feeling up for some fun, we have multiple Museums, the children will love exploring, most of them are free too! There is always exciting things happening, from festivals, shows, theatre, gigs, cinemas, galleries, if you want to view some of the sightseeing & tours Liverpool have, click here.

I absolutely love going for bite to eat, Liverpool has plenty of restaurants to pick from. My personal favourites are The Smugglers Cove, which turns into a cocktail bar in the evening. Reds True Barbecue, burgers, ribs, you name it, they’ve got it! Almost Famous, again, burger heaven! The terrace in Liverpool One has many different places to eat, from feeling like a quick lunch to somewhere posh and romantic.

In Liverpool, we have some amazing parks for when your feeling more more relaxed. Sefton Park is certainly a popular one because of it’s beautiful Palm House. Other parks such as Stanley and Croxteth Park, are also phenomenal. My ultimate favourite is Speke Hall, beautiful old buildings, you have to go! You can also watch the planes fly in and out since it’s close to our famous John Lennon Airport.

I think that pretty much covers it, if you do visit Liverpool, be sure to give me a shout! I can help you with hotels, transport etc. Here are some pictures I have taken of my lovely home, enjoy!

This is a really good question! I see my blog being self hosted, at the moment using WordPress free, my themes are limited. I want it to be prettier and grow a bigger audience, I want people to enjoy my blog.

What’s your favourite season?

Everyone calls me a winter baby! I love being cosy by the fire watching the rain while writing, maybe listening to Ben Howard or Gabrielle Aplin. I was born in December, that could be why?

One beauty product you could never live without?

I could never live without my Mac eyebrow pomade! As long as my brows are looking good, I dont mind what the rest of my body looks like!

Your favourite restaurant?

Ooh- I eat out a lot, so this is a tricky one! I would have to say The Smugglers Cove, it is amazing! It turns into a quirky bar at night with the best cocktails! You can see the style of the restaurant here.

What’s your social media handles?

I’m so happy with this question because I love following new people and making new friends!

10 Things That Bother Me

We all have certain things that makes us unique, everyone has different likes, dislikes, otherwise the world would be pretty boring, right? I’m sure by this blog title and the massive image above, you can guess what this is all about. I’m going to go through 10 things that really annoy me to see if any of you agree!

People that walk slow in front of you.

This REALLY is number one on my list and the worst part is, when you try to overtake and they end up walking side to side so your just stuck going 2 mph and listening to what they had for lunch last week.

People that push you out the way to get on the bus first.

Since I am only 5 ft 1, getting on busses or trains at peak times is my enemy. I always get shoved right to the back of the queue. I agree, let elderly get on first and pram’s too, but don’t push me because I will stand on your toes, thanks.

Using my shoulders to rest your arms.

Like I said before, I am only 5 ft 1 so you could say I’m pretty small… However this does not mean that you can relax your body weight, onto my tiny shoulders. Or pat my head, does it look like I have paws and a tail to you? Didn’t think so.

Going to the hairdressers and them refusing to cut my hair.

Every SINGLE time I go to get my hair cut or coloured, I get lectured on how long my hair is and “you’re not going to cut it are you?! It’s so long!” Yes, I know, that’s why I’ve came to get it cut… I am literally paying you, to do your job, please stop nagging me.

Getting moaned at because I tend to swear a lot.

People in work or even my friends always comment on how much I swear. Leave me alone! If you moan at me for swearing, it will only add to my temper, making me swear more? We are in 2017, people swear all the time! I also use it to emphasise sentences, for example “Oh it was amazing” or “Oh it was f*cking amazing”. Obviously the second one sounds better.

“When are you getting a real job?”

Probably when somebody hires me? I am currently working in retail, but for some people, that isn’t a ‘real job’. I make money so doesn’t that mean anything? My dream career would be to become a graphic designer, but I don’t have the funds for college, you see my cycle here? Stop pressuring me, my time will come.

People being confused by the music I listen to.

Ok so I confuse myself when it comes to music because I like most types. It depends what mood that I am in. I like rap, acoustic, house music, rock, some metal, classical, composed music (film soundtracks) singer / songwriter, pretty much everything? But my top 4 has to be Pink Floyd, Techno, Hans Zimmer and Ben Howard. Catfish and The Bottlemen also have a place in my heart.

“You’re going to regret that when your older”

The most common thing that I hear everyday, especially in work is that I will regret my tattoo. Tattoos are literally works of art. I have two really big tattoos on my arm and hopefully I will make it into a sleeve. When I do get older and I’m grey with wrinkles, I will be a badass grandma so stfu.

Smokers who blow the smoke in your face.

I don’t smoke and I never will, people who do smoke, I have no issues with, most of my friends and family smoke. The one thing that really annoys me, is when they blow smoke in my face, mostly strangers. Now my lungs are black and I smell disgusting, thanks guys.

People that think blogging is easy.

Oh ok, why don’t you try to build a blog while working full-time. Building your audience, updating your social media 24/7. Updating your blog to suit the modern times, responding to emails and oh don’t forget to take photos, edit them and then upload them to your blog. Writing a post at least 3 times a week, keeping your blog up to date. Gaining relationships with other bloggers, organising and planning posts, most bloggers have a YouTube too, which is a LOT of work alone! So yeah go ahead, be a blogger it’s easy! ..

So there we have my 10 things, it’s quite a mixed list I must say but they all bug me! The last one about blogging, it is hard work and you have to fully commit, however I love it and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Blogging has helped me grow as a person, improved my confidence and made me who I am today. If you liked this post, be sure to share it, comment, all that stuff goes a LONG way when your trying to get noticed, I appreciate you guys just reading my posts, never mind all that stuff!

When The Person You Love, Doesn’t Love You Back

I think this is a situation most of us have been in, so I thought why not do a post to help others who are feeling this way. It is hard, but it happens and someone who you thought was your once upon a time prince or princess, is now living a happy life without you. You slowly feel like your personality is draining away, the days are long and you feel like you have no one to talk too. A lot of people feel embarrassed because it is such a degrading emotion to feel. You go back and forth accept it and deny that its true. No text’s, no calls, stalking social media, it is a horrible cycle. Maybe you find comfort in trying to find someone else, which can be confusing for your brain and is also unfair. As I said before, it is hard but it’s also do-able.

The first thing you have to do is accept the fact that your lover is gone and won’t be coming back. As harsh as that sounds, it’s reality. You have to let it gradually sink in and it takes a lot of energy. It could take weeks, months or even years but you will get there eventually. We have this huge build up of feelings such as anger, sadness, betrayal, rejection, self esteem issues, grief and the loss of self respect. All them feelings won’t come back to you with a click of your finger, you have to steadily rebuild your whole life.

Secondly you have to look at all your positive points, do you have nice eyes? juicy lips? is your hair something you love? Write them down as key points and smile. Write down the things you really hate, your belly? your teeth? but also write down why? what is it that makes you hate these aspects of your amazing body? Is it just because your emotions are high and you feel like your not good enough? Maybe find a new hobby, start a blog, it can be private but you can write all your feelings, it helps a LOT. I started this blog as a private one when I was suffering really severely with depression and now I get views all over the world. It takes one little change, to make a difference, I promise.

accept things

Learn to love yourself before you let anyone else love you, because if they leave you, all your self love can carry you along. You have to work on your self esteem too, I used to hate my weight, I am quite a big girl but I have learnt that you gain weight and lose it, all your life, we need to stop obsessing on how to look perfect. The love of your life will love you no matter what. You are not a failure, you are perfect the way you are. Be good to yourself, move on from the rejection, celebrate you for all that you are, you are amazing. Your mother carried you for 9 months and you have been brought up all these years, do not let someone who doesn’t care about you, destroy who you are within a few days. You are worth so much more. Pain is normal, it can cause:

  • Changes in sleep patterns,
  • Feeling of hopelessness,
  • Cause negative thoughts difficult to control,
  • Depression or great sadness,
  • The urge to stay indoors,
  • Low self esteem,
  • Faking being who you are to hide your pain,
  • Detachment from your family and friends.

Give yourself some space, breathe, take a step back, cry, all of these things are completely normal. It does take time, but you will get there, just be patient with yourself.

If you EVER feel like you need someone to talk too, I am always here for you. I will leave a contact form below so you can email me. Things grow, including you, keep your head up, your time will come, I promise you.

Tourism In Dublin

10th June 2017, Top of the mornin’ to ya!

After being home for one day, I started to feel the need to travel again and what perfect timing Ireland was! We headed to the airport at 5am, I was excited because this holiday was more chilled than Paris and Berlin, we just wanted to drink and be merry! Is that a christmas saying? Oh well, that’s how we felt! We got to our hotel after the roughest flight ever and it was in the middle of nowhere! I should have checked google maps! It was lovely though which made up for it.

We headed into the city for a drink or 2 (or 9) and had something to eat. I never really got many pictures of this trip because I wanted it to be more relaxed and spend time with Jack more than my camera. Also, we cam here for a very specific reason, HANS ZIMMER! If you don’t know who he is, YouTube him. He composes songs for films such as Gladiator, Interstella and my favourite, Inception.

There isn’t much to write about to be honest, we spent most of the time chilling in the hotel because I fell ill and spent 2 days bedbound, typical! We did find a lovely little pub though called Gypsy Rose, they had an offer on, pizza and pint for €5, which I thought was great! We stayed in there for hours and headed back. We got the bus everywere because Taxi’s are super expensive, so if your looking to going to dublin, get a hotel in the centre, it really is expensive but by the time you pay busses and taxi fairs to and from, it will be worth it! One cider and a pint of guinness was €15! I was mortified! But then we later found out we was at Temple Bar, it’s a popular area in Dublin, full of bars and pubs but stay away if you can, it will rinse you out!

13th June, HANS ZIMMER TIME. I was exited, he was amazing. I cried (obviously) but I couldn’t help it, me and Jack share precious memories with his music, first time he told me he loved me, he was playing in the background so you can imagine how emotional I was. The orchistra was incredible, it moved me in every way, happy, emotional, sad, whatever the song was about, I felt it. 10/10 would recommend to go and see it. I will cherish it forever.

The last day we just got ready for the airport, I was dreading the flight home since the first one was so rough! But it wasn’t too bad, the wind started to make us a little shaky but we are in the sky? I absolutley LOVED my trip! Even though it cost a lot of money, I wouldn’t change it for the world. I will never, ever, forget all my events and experiences, the new food, the strange and funky places. If I had to pick one of my favourite destinations, it would definatley be Berlin by far, I hope to move there in the future. I felt like home there and everyone is so welcoming. Thank you for reading my post and be sure to check for more soon!

5th June 2017, Guten Morgen!

I actually cannot believe we made our flight from Paris to Berlin and now that song is stuck in your head isn’t it? I am so excited about this place, towards the end of Paris, I

was itching to get to Germany. First thing’s first, I wanted to try the traditional Currywurst! Sausage, tomato sauce and curry powder-sounds disgusting doesn’t it? Well I can assure you, it is amazing! It was so sunny, ice cold Fanta went down a treat with my well waited for meal. The first day we had a walk about and went to see Checkpoint Charlie, we arrived in Berlin around 10am, so we had the whole day ahead. We was pretty tired, but that went to the back of my head since I was so excited. We visited the Checkpoint Charlie museum, that was great! Although there was so much stuff to read, at least it was interesting! After that we decided to visit the Berlin Wall and the Brandenburg Gate too! I will post some pictures below. We also visited the Holocaust memorial which was incredible. The Gate is so big, we walked under it and I had no idea and said to Jack “it’s supposed to be here?” and walked past and then everyone was taking pictures so we turned around and we had walked under it and walked straight forward. It was so funny!

The next day we went to the zoo! I LOVED it, as you can imagine, they have polar bears! I was in my element in the zoo, it took us all day. I hit a realisation point though and I thought it is actually so cruel to keep all these amazing animals inside a zoo, they should be in the wild! But some were going extinct, so I could see why they keep them safe. The transport in Berlin is super quick, super easy, I want to move there for good. In a few years time, that is my plan, I can’t wait!! We found lovely bakeries and little restaurants, I was having the best time. We went back to the hotel around 7pm and had a nap, as we was so tired with all that walking! We went for some food in the hotel because we was too tired to go anywhere haha! But it ended up being disgusting and the waitress was so rude!

The next day was like a chill out day, the zoo completely tired us out and it was our last day so we HAD to go clubbing. I never wanted to leave the hotel room though, it was so big and the bed was so comfy with LED lights round the headboard, super cosy! It was called the COSMO Hotel Mitte incase you was wondering. There was a minibar in the fridge so as I got ready, I got drunk too. Makes sense right? I was so hyped up to go to Tresor!! We had wanted to go to this club for so long and listen to the BEST techno! I have done a review kinda thing on my blog called Tresor Experience so if you want to read it you can 🙂

7am my alarm goes off, I hadn’t long got home from our night out but we had to go the airport. We were flying home for 1 night and then jetting off to Dublin! No rest for the best!

2nd June 2017 Ooh la-la!

Bonjour! Paris was upon us and we were ready to go! Despite getting up late and having to rush to the airport as fast as humanly possible, we actually made it! Being up at 3 am is a killer when you go asleep at 1:30 am! After checking in and going through security we finally looked for a place to grab some food, never had breakfast quite so early in all my life! We found a Costa Coffee place and I grabbed a seat near the window to watch the planes rush down the runway. I was so excited! Paris has always been a dream to me. Sitting outside in the quirky cafe’s drinking tea. I could not get this dream out my head. Jack got the food and I had a massive pot of tea to wake me up a little, I also had a cheese, ham and red onion panini which was divine! As the time passed by, my heart raced with joy, not only am I going to my most adored place, I get to spend it with my best friend, my soulmate, I am the luckiest girl alive right now! Our flight number was called and we headed to the gate, found our seats and got ready for take off. I was itching to arrive! The flight was only an hour or so and it was smooth and dreamy. Looking out to the clouds, they looked like big fluffy marshmallows! I was feeling so blessed, holding Jacks hand as we began to land, I could already see the beautiful white buildings surrounding the airport, we could see the Eiffel tower too! It was a warm sunny day as we stepped off the plane, I could not stop smiling!

We arrived at our hotel room, which was lovely, we had a huge window overlooking Paris, I love watching the world go by so this made me happy. We just chilled out for a while, we felt exhausted since having practically no sleep. I was too excited, I had to get out there and explore this dreamy place! We had a long walk around Porte De Lilas and when I say long, I mean 2 solid hours of walking! We went to the tower, the museum, every were! We spent 3 days exploring, eating french food, we also tasted Macaroons, which were lovely. There was a little pub near our hotel and we went there mostly every morning and had chicken in this mustard and mushroom sauce, I wish I could eat it everyday!

On the second day, we got up and headed out as early as possible, I wanted to visit the Guard De Nord train station, so we did just that. Opposite, was a lovely little cafe and I felt like ice cream, so we headed over. I felt nervous to be in Paris, a week or two before we went, there was horrible terror attacks, but you can’t let things like that stop you, or they win. We was sat down looking out, it started to rain but that was somehow fitting with the scenery, like a film. We ate our ice cream and had hot chocolate, when I started getting heart flutters, I said to Jack ‘I feel like something is wrong’ I could just feel it. We asked the waiter for the bill and off he went to get it. Next minute, I hear this great roar, at first I thought it was thunder, but then I saw people running out of the station, I could feel the explosion in my bones, it was crazily loud. We jumped off our chair and I began to cry, the fear in everybody’s face terrified me. The waiter came rushing over and told us to stay calm, I couldn’t, I was shaking. He began to explain that when someone in the station finds an unattended bag or package, the police have a special robot that controllably blows the item up. It was still scary, police with guns walked all around us, I just wanted to get back to the hotel which luckily, was out the centre.

On the 3rd day, we went to see the Musée du Louvre even though we were still shook up, we couldn’t let it ruin our holiday. I am so happy we did because I loved it, it was like a movie set, all the old buildings with this modern glass pyramid in the middle. I was amazed. The beauty of it was stunning. I had an amazing time and spending it with the person I love most was just the best experience ever. I have posted some pictures below. Next stop..Germany!

Tresor Experience

tresor plant

So, for those of you that don’t know, I done a tiny bit of traveling in June. I do have a travel blog separate to this one, but I have now decided to just combine the two, in my menu there will be a page called ‘Two Smiles and a Thousand Miles’ with all mine and Jacks adventures on!

In case you hadn’t noticed this blog post is all about Tresor. If you aren’t sure what that is, it’s one of the biggest techno nightclubs in Berlin. It was first founded in 1991 (I wasn’t even born!) and it used to be in an old department store, but in 2007 it got moved into a huge renovated power plant. Even if you don’t like techno, I promise you it is the BEST experience ever! I was worried for a few days before we was going to the club, like every girl does ‘what shall I wear?, should I wear heels?’ I am so thankful that I went in shorts, blouse and trainers because the dress code is casual! There was people in tracksuits, although they looked comfy, it gets very sweaty!

tresor blog 2

It opens at around 11pm, we got there around 1am and waited in the queue, there was only me and Jack which was fortunate because they have a strict door policy, you have to be dressed casual, you can’t make a lot of noise, big groups are unlikely to get in, I was actually nervous. So we got in, had a walk round, there are so many tunnels and concrete passages, it was like a maze but with bass shaking the floor tickling my toes. To get into Tresor, you have to go through a 30m long tunnel, filled with strobe lights, in a zigzag motion, people often call this tunnel ‘the road to hell’ and I could see why, I was already drunk at this stage due to drinking before hand, but the bar isn’t that busy. The club is open from 11/12-9am! So you have plenty of time to rave.

My heart was racing, there are so many lights, all different colours but mostly red and blue, I could feel every beat throughout my body, it was insane. All I could think of was ‘oh my god’ over and over again. There were people smoking, drinking, taking drugs, everyone was so nice, one big techno family. I had my eyes closed at one point just swaying back and forth, it was heaven. I have no footage of my experience, because your not really allowed your phone out, let alone snapchat! Now I love a good snap, but I am so happy that this rule exists because I feel like I remember it more? Focusing on the music, the people in their own little world, the bass under my feet, in my legs, my arms. Amazing.

If your ever in Berlin, you HAVE to go, I can’t even express how good this club really is. I have posted some images below, I only got a few because like I said before your phone should stay in your pocket. Thank you for reading and if you ever feel like you want to know more or discuss your experiences, email me or comment on this post!

I’m back!

Hello and welcome to my new and improved blog! I used to blog all the time and somehow I have lost my way, but hey, i’m back now!

I felt lost for a while, down and sad. There was no reason, I guess some of us just go through these things. So, exciting things are happening! I got a new tattoo, finally after one whole year of getting my last one, I have an amazing Pink Floyd work of art, on my arm! I also started eating really good! The past month I went through a phase of getting take away’s five nights a week, it was disgusting!! For about 3 months I haven’t blogged, I haven’t focused on myself if that makes sense? And now I feel back to normal, I feel happy and I feel motivated and ready to bring on whatever the road ahead brings.
